KISSA Mochi-Tsuki Event – Pounding rice cakes
On February 1, KISSA hosted an exchange event “KISSA Mochi-Tsuki,” between international and Japanese students at Kakuma-no-sato.
About 50 students participated in the event and ate rice cakes made with a mortar (Usu) and pestle (Kine) and covered with soybean flour (Kinako) and red bean paste (Anko).
Despite the event being held in the midst of snowfall, participants thoroughly enjoyed Japanese culture through activities such as calligraphy(Shodou)and Karuta.
