Support for International Students, Researchers and LGBTQ+ Individuals

LGBTQ+ Counseling

　The LGBTQ+ consultation service starts from April 2023.

　You can seek consultation regarding such issues as shown below
　（*not actual consultation examples.）

Eligibility: Kanazawa University Students (including family members), faculty and staff

*E-mail consultation is also available for those who are considering applying to enter Kanazawa University or who have been accepted but have not yet been admitted.

  • LGBTQ+ individuals
  • People who think they may be LGBTQ+
  • People around LGBTQ+ individuals
  • Family members of LGBTQ+ students (only consultation regarding LGBTQ+ students is possible)

E-mail consultation

　Send an email to the following address for the consultations shown below.

  • I would like to change the alias and/or gender I use on campus
  • I would like to consult about the facility that I will use.
  • I would like to consult regarding classes, teaching practices or internships
  • I would like to consult about job hunting.
  • What are the procedures for allowances, leave, holidays, etc. for faculty and staff who have non-marital partners?
  • Other

　Enter the e-mail subject as “Consultation: name” (using an alias is also OK) and for the email body, enter (1) your name, (2) your department or office name etc. (not required if you used an alias) and (3) consultation content.
　Although it is possible to consult using an alias (a name you want to be called), some types of assistance my not be possible.

Face-to-face consultation

　You can consult our counsellors with peace of mind, as they are certified psychologists with LGBTQ+ training and are bound by a duty of confidentiality. Please complete the “Problem Definition Sheet”; we will provide consultation based on the content of the sheet.
　Make sure to book in advance via the booking form if you desire face-to-face consultation.
